MADONNA DELLA FONTE NUOVA SANCTUARY

Founded in 1602 by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de' Medici, "Madonna della Fontenuova" Basilica is the historical and urban center of Monsummano Terme. Santuario Madonna Della Fonte Nuova

The Sanctuary is on the site of an ancient tabernacle which is now part of the major altar showing the image of Our Lady, and to which phenomenal events are attributed.

L'OSTERIA DEI PELLEGRINI
This palace was built in 1607 by architect Gherardo Mechini to accommodate the huge crowd of pilgrims who used to come to visit the Sanctuary.

St. NICOLAO CHURCH
San Nicolao church was built in the first decades of the 13th century. It is an austere building and has a unique nave that is hidden from the outside by later construction. The walls are made from local stone that continues to bear witness to many alterations over the centuries.
